At NetDepot, our goal is to maximize energy efficiency and to minimize our footprint on the environment. It's the small things that can make such a huge difference.
NetDepot's state-of-the-art facility controller automates pumps, fans, facility temperature gauges and electricity usage by utilizing only the amount of power needed to meet the set points on the equipment. All equipment and machinery is monitored hundreds of times per minute for optimal and efficient usage.
NetDepot installed a well to supply water to its cooling towers. This reduces the amount of electricity used to pump the water to the facility and eliminates the use of chemicals in the water from the water treatment facility.
NetDepot uses heat pumps, which can provide up to 25% more energy efficient cooling than traditional HVAC-cooling equipment. These pumps remove heat from the data center and transfer it to NetDepot's generator room and office areas rather than burning more electricity or gas.
NetDepot recycles all materials possible. Cardboard, metals and old computer components are all recycled.
NetDepot utilizes high-efficiency lighting throughout the building to minimize power consumption. A light is a light; why waste energy?
NetDepot utilizes the space within its facility by matching maximum efficiencies without over building or waste. We make the best with space we currently have.
NetDepot practices efficient floor layout and design by redefining the cage space concept.
NetDepot conducts audits with efficiency experts from Georgia Power to discover better ways to conserve energy. Georgia Power states that the NetDepot facility is the most efficient data center in the area. However, we continue to try and find new and innovative ways to optimize our energy.
